Chillagoe is one of many old mining towns scattered about North Queensland. It is a town full of history and is surrounded by spectacular limestone outcrops. In my experience, the best time to really immerse yourself in the landscape is in the soft, winter twilight. Yes, it means scrambling up the rocks in the dark with tripod, camera and lenses and perhaps, wishing for a flask of hot, early morning coffee. It means waiting patiently in the dark, listening to the sounds of the bush waking up, watching the sky, the landscape and trying to judge the light, the warm, gentle light, in our Australian bush. “Limestone Outcrop Chillagoe.” Prints starting at just $80- available now.
