Brendan MacRae Fine Art Photography
My fine art images are the results of inspiration and the precise application of light in the controlled environment of my studio. Much of inspiration comes from the old masters of still life as well as contemporary photographers. Many images depict objects of great sentimental value, either to myself or to my clients who commission the images.
The technique that I use is rather complex and can involve hours of painstaking composition, various precise lighting techniques and post production skills to produce a final image. I am keenly interested in colour theory, composition, and creating, where possible, images of great sentimental value. I do produce these fine art images on request and I am always interested in photographing interesting objects with good stories.
Far North Queensland Prints
Far North Queensland is a place of dramatic contrast and natural beauty. From the rain forest to the reef and out back to the savannah country, this part of Northern Australia is as wonderful to visitors as it is to those who live here.
A large part of my life is devoted to travelling to the iconic and the unknown reaches of Far North Queensland. As a full time North Queensland photographer, I am in a wonderful position to be able to stay as long as I like, to immerse myself in the landscape and to wait for the light.
In fact the light is everything. It is the patient waiting that for me, yields results. If it takes a week for the weather to be just right, so be it. Where else would you rather be?
